A pie in his face right about now would do wonders.

I'm so depressed about outsourcing I called the suicide hotline and got a call center in Pakistan. They got all excited and asked me if I could drive a truck.

Everything I write is my opinion and not to be considered proven fact. Nothing I write should be considered financial advice.

Who was the **** knob on CNBC this morning complaining about the media's treatment of Angelo Mozillo?

This was honestly the first 5 minutes of this trash I have watched in two months. It took that long to get ****ed off and then they had Skeletor Paulson on next. I turned the crap off. I will send the letter around to my politicians. Honorable Jim Bunning needs to bitch slap Paulson again.

Can you get Hedgie to link this on the mortgage lender implode-o-meter site? That may generate additional signatures.

I am going to suggest people not just fax but CALL their Congresscritters. They have not had many phone calls according to my info. Phone calls and faxes stopped the illegal alien amnesty and it can do it here. Call and call and call..they usually have more than one office for each rep...in case some lines are busy...

Called Russ Feingold's office this morning. The staffer who answered the phone refused to tell me how Feingold will vote on this bill.

Does anyone (hopefully professional writer) want to post a sample letter to the editor which explains HR3221 in simple terms and with brevity?

Note: e-mailed Bunnings office the day after HH testimony. The next day I got a phone call from the Republican party asking me to answer a "survey". I think the answer they want on the survey is yes to- will you donate money.

I called them and wrote the following to my two Republican Senators (Texas) and Bush. Must of this was paraphrased from Reggie's blog:
http://boombustblog.com/component/option....
-------

In NO uncertain terms, I am 100% opposed to the Fannie-Freddie bailout plan.

If you vote for this socialist bailout, I will NEVER again vote for a Republican. My votes will be Libertarian/3rd party from then on.

My views are, surprisingly shared by most of my Republican & Democratic friends & co-workers as they understand the truth of what you are actually doing and who is really helped, i.e., your and Hank Paulson's Wall Street cronies.

Whose side are you on??? We needed a curb on leverage of institutions that the government considers to be too big to fail. I am all for the free markets, but if the markets are free, I should not have to pay for them. Let whoever is failing, fail! Interest rates may go up a bit but others will step in, as a free market demands. Let those who took the risk - the debt holders and stock holders of these GSEs and Banks - face the consequence of bad investment decisions.

You are trying to manipulate and stabilize of housing prices. The problem IS inflated real asset prices, particularly residential housing, that is hurting the common man. Real housing prices have outstripped real income by MUTLIPLES, and home ownership is out of the reach of many people. As long as homes are overpriced, they will stay out of the reach of the average man, thus they will not be able to buy it - and common sense dictates that supply will continue to outstrip demand. There is no other way for the problem to be fixed. You are ensuring that it will end up much worse than it has to be.

The common man needs housing prices to come down, while your Wall Street buddies need housing prices to increase or at least stabilize.

Well, our government (you) sides with the Wall Street and Socialism. We spent years telling the Japanese not to do this very thing, you hypocrites.

The housing bills, the various bailouts and access mechanisms to the government's cash flows and balance sheet are not aimed at correcting the market imbalance (read as bringing on a correction). The government tools and programs are aimed at floating companies that I have considered effectively insolvent, or close to it, for over a year now.

The tools and schemes are aimed at keeping housing prices artificially elevated in order to maintain the values of constructed securities and vehicles based upon, or anchored to, housing prices.

You are, in effect, selling out the common man for the common CDO, agency bond, or AAA MBS. In addition, the common man is being forced to pay for the risk (read TAXPAYER money) assumed by the architects of these devices, despite the fact that the architects of these devices failed to share the rewards of their machinations in times of excess. That's right, you know what I am about to say.

Privatizing profits and socializing losses, all with the insidious and absurd notion of "helping us."

Backing the GSEs and bailing out the banks & investment banks transfers a HUGE amount of debt on to the taxpayer. We all know the sunset provisions are BOGUS.

This will have the chilling affect of rising interest rates, a crash in the bond markets, and mortgage rates shooting up much higher, as our implied Federal debt load rockets higher. ANY economist without an agenda knows that the consequences are dire.

I AM COUNTING ON YOU TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND SUPPORT A SENATE FILIBUSTER TO PREVENT THIS TERRIBLE PIECE OF LEGISLATION FROM PASSING.

THE FUTURE OF OUT NATION DEPENDS ON IT.

Can't get through the phones or leave messages for California Boxer or Feinstein. Left them an email

YOU MUST NOT VOTE FOR THE BILL HR 3221.

This is nothing more then a blatant attempt to transfer debt to the citizens in order to bail out those that created this mess.

This is not a Democrat or Republican issue but an American one. We need to do what’s right and save our country instead of destroy it.
